If people read the instructions on how to use sharpening stones I don't think this would get bad reviews. its a great item to have, how long it will last im not sure / but so far so good.

Great sharpening tool
Very conveniently sized puck for keeping a small woodcutting hatchet nice and sharp.Each of the sides is the perfect grit to level out any inconsistencies and then buff it up again.Also used for chisels on the fly and it worked superbly.

Does exactly what it should smooth side for fine edges rough side to bring it back from blunt

Not great but not terrible either.
Like the other reviews say, it turns to mush quite quickly but it does the job on my pocket knife and a few other blades around the house. I wouldn’t get another one but it still works.

Sharp blade and therapeutic
Works well working the blade in small circles. My axe was still new so wanted something to keep the steel keen to cut Wood. Easy to hold and sitting with the axe across my legs its easy to work the edge of the blade. Gently working in circles with the rough stone before getting to the polishing. The stone has the right grit to work the axe blade well. Its great to have the pouch for the stone that also goes on the belt. it will be going with me in the next Scout camps!
