Update #3 - it has kept working fine for a month. Amazing that it can track which of the 16 zone is being brushed, not nearly perfect but good enough. The app on the phone is useful enough to keep using every days, kind of tricky to finish the side and top zones, still gamelike and engaging. Back to 5 stars.Update #2 - emailed the company a few times. Finally got the reset button to work right after about 20 attempts, and it works again for now. No secret trick, except the button doesn’t move. So I'm back to enthused about the unique capabilities of this toothbrush.Update #1 - Loved it for 5 days, as described below, but then the software quit working. Somehow the unit is no longer connected to the phone app. I've spent an hour so far searching YouTube videos and the instructions, making no progress. The reset button at the back is the worst input device I've encountered in a long time, and all the instructions are complicated and unclear. I'll modify this review if I ever get this $350 device back to working as it should.Cost is outrageous, but performance is great. A gyroscope allows the toothbrush to know which of 16 zones is being brushed (top or bottom, inside or outside, left right or middle, and the tops of the back zones) to track whether each zone gets its share of time. The graphic on the app on the phone (which I hold in the other hand) shows the progress.The ability to track history of brushing performance effectively gamifies the experience - I actually look forward to brushing at the moment. In six years, it will probably get 2000 uses, so 20 cents is not so frivolous, and tooth and gum work prevented has some value.

I’ve been using electric tooth brushes since dirt was new. This is the finest cleaning, quietest, with so many useful features that to me this is perfect for my needs. Cleaning modes (speed) is selectable and after use my teeth feel and look great. I’m still in shock for having spent over $230 for this but it is indeed worth every penny. Battery life is good. It’s been dropped with no signs of being for the worse for hitting marble shower floor. Found that I just can leave it on the magnetic charging all the time and I never worry about battery life. It has a hard case that came with mine that also serves as a charger using the supplied wall wart and cable. Like all Oral B products it is exceptionally well made, designed and uses quality material. I enjoy the display on the base which shows brushing time, mode and lets you know battery status. Very ergonomic. Though pricey, I do highly recommend this toothbrush and charging system. Mine came with four brush heads and packaged well.

It’s like having a tiny, polite dental hygienist say, “Uh, maybe ease up there, buddy?”The Bluetooth connection syncs with an app that shows exactly which teeth you’ve brushed, so no molar gets left behind. The charging plate also has a timer and shows when you’ve thoroughly brushed each quadrant- in case you don’t want to use the app. It’s basically like having your own digital mouth map. True, it’s not cheap, but I snagged it on Prime Day for a discount after eyeing it for a while. Pricey? Yes. But if you’re serious about investing in your oral care (or just love a high-tech gadget), this toothbrush is worth every penny.

Buy this when on sale only. It does clean better than the genesis series electric brushes.
